Franchise Four

April 15, 2015

Major League Baseball is having a promotional contest called the Franchise Four, where you can vote for the four most impactful players who best represent the history of each MLB franchise/team.

Just go to http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/events/all_star/y2015/franchise_four.jsp and select a team.

You can also vote for the top 4 Negro League players, MLB Pioneers, and Greatest Living Players.

Top vote getters will be announced at the All-Star Game in Cincinnati on July 14th.

My 4 Greatest Living Players were Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, Barry Bonds and Johnny Bench.   I get that some may not like or approve of Barry Bonds because of his ties to PEDs, so you can have your opinion and cast your own vote.

My hometown votes were:

Cubs: Ernie Banks, Ron Santo, Ryne Sandberg and Billy Williams.   (Sorry, Sammy Sosa, but the PEDs did effect my decision here.)

Sox: Frank Thomas, Harold Baines, Minnie Minoso and Paul Konerko.

I also voted for franchise players for the Yankees, Red Sox and Reds.  I may vote for other teams soon.

Cast your vote today, and see if your candidates win at the All-Star Game this summer.

Who will your choices be?  Feel free to share your selections in the Comments section below.
