Football Dream Team

January 31, 2015

I previously wrote about my Baseball Dream Team.

I love football, and football history too.

I have followed NFL football since I was a kid.  Baseball was my first love.  But once I learned about football, I loved it just as much.  I was around 9 years old when I started falling for football.  It was easy.  Having the pleasure to watch and cheer for the great Walter Payton as a kid was a great privilege.

I started to collect football cards since I was around 10 years old.  I still have many of them.

I recently got a free account at WhatIfSports.com and assembled my All-Time NFL Dream Team.  I created a team of 16 skill position players – 3 Quarterbacks, 5 Running Backs, 5 Wide Receivers, and 3 Tight Ends.

Then from there, I also rounded out my entire team with players for all positions and listed them below too.

My Dream Team is shown below along with their positions and significant stats from one of their best years.  I narrowed my full team to 65 players so that I had backups at all positions.

My 2nd Team QBs would include:

QB – Dan Marino, John Elway, Brett Favre

My 3rd Team would include Drew Brees (may pass others on this list if he continues his NFL success), Steve Young and Aaron Rodgers (may pass others on this list if he continues his NFL success)

(Others considered: Dan Fouts, Kurt Warner, Warren Moon, Ben Roethlisberger)

Old-timers I never saw play but are worthy of consideration: Johnny Unitas, Otto Graham, Sammy Baugh and Bart Starr
