If You’re Smart, You’ll Read This

January 4, 2015

In my last article, Don’t Be Afraid Of Your Dreams, I encouraged all to dream, and pursue your dreams.

I didn’t tell you what to dream.  Only you know what is going on in your head and heart.  Only you know what you want.  Only you know what will make you happy.  Only you can make your dream come true.

But how?

Once you know what you want to do, you learn a little and do a little each day to make that dream a reality.

And even if you’re doing what you want, you can always improve your success in what you’re doing.

One of the best ways to be successful and realize your dreams is through personal development.

Personal Development is the conscious pursuit of personal growth by expanding self-awareness and knowledge and improving personal skills.

Personal development can be done in many areas of ones life: health (body), education (mind), spirit (soul), work, personal finance, relationships, community betterment, any aspect of life….you can get better.

There are all kinds of personal development resources out there for you to access, and many of them are totally free.

One great resource I want to share with you today is Personal Development For Smart People.  It is written by Steve Pavlina.  He has written hundreds of eloquent and intelligent articles on how to do so many things, and how to do them better.

Not only is Steve’s web site full of hundreds of articles and blog posts on hundreds of subjects that make for wonderful reading material, but there is also some wonderful audio material in his audio podcasts.

Steve is a generous guy too.  As good as the material he’s written over many years is, he not only gives it away freely, but in a very uncommon gesture by today’s standards, he has given you and I permission to give his work away freely too.  He has an “Uncopyright Notice” on his web site in which he releases his copyrights on what he’s written to the public domain.  You have nearly as much right to his work as he does.  You can read his article and share them with others so they can grow too.  What a generous gift to our world!

Disclaimer: Steve and I are not on the same page with regard to faith, spirituality and religion – so I can not recommend you follow his lead in that area of writing.  But I still highly recommend his writing on other personal development subjects in the areas of productivity, purpose, passion, people, health and career.

You owe it to yourself, to God, and to others, to be the best YOU you can be.  And you’ll be a lot happier when you are too.  And I want that for you.

Have a smart year, pursue your dreams, develop yourself and be well in 2015 and beyond!
