Spring Cleaning

April 7, 2009

I love summer.  Love it, love it, LOOOOVE it.   Warmth, sun, freedom, openness, activities, picnics, barbecues, blue skies, beaches, water, breezes, leaves, flowers, skin.

Next to summer, I’ll take spring.  Warming breezes, birds returning, anticipation of the coming days of summer.

But I hate the idea of spring cleaning.  So much work to be done; but important work.

Besides cleaning the house, this is the time of the year I clean out my pipes.  It’s time to get into shape again.  I stay somewhat fit year round, but I confess I get a little lazy through the winter.  I don’t like to run in the cold.  But as we get warmer days, I like to run, jog, do chin-ups, sit-ups and lift weights to get in shape for the coming summer months.  Time to get the blood flowing through my veins, air flowing through my lungs, and sweat pouting through my skin to clean out the toxins of stress and neglect built up in my body over the winter.

I’m interested to learn how other people motivate themselves and their families to work together to clean their homes and get active and fit together.  Post a comment or send me an email so I can hear your ideas about how to get our homes and bodies in shape for the season.
